This learning format allows schools to deliver experiential learning to students at scale in a cost effective way. These cases are designed to connect the classroom with industry partners that provide students with a real challenge to work on that directly relates to course concepts.
These are often used as a way to supplement traditional courses curriculum or as a case competition. A case is created to outline the goals of the engagement, including the company background and the business challenge(s). Students collaborate cross-functionally or compete in groups as they do research and propose solutions to the business challenges. The students usually get a few chances to interact with the company with help from a faculty liaison and can accommodate 6-100 students at once.

CapSource coordinates an Annual Student Live Case Competition for the international business school accrediting body, IACBE. 8 schools from all around the world compete to come up with the best solution for a real business challenge.

CapSource organized a Live Case with a Burger King Franchisee for 140 students across 4 class sections facilitated by two different faculty. The students split into groups and worked on challenges related to data analysis, operations, talent management, and financial analysis.
